A dog with a bone!

The canine traits of a lead generation operator.

“When I believe in something, I’m like a dog with a bone.” —Melissa McCarthy, American actress.

My motivation #

One of my anchors is, that I love working with experts and running with their great ideas.

Very often the clients New Era works with are so focused on serving existing clients and contracts, that they rarely have the time to put in a robust lead generation process themselves. I help them with this.

Before I can get everything underway though, I need to believe in them and their proposition. Otherwise, I wander off with my tail between my legs: disappointed – canine analogy alert!

Other analogies have been I’m a client’s outsourced bloodhound and a bulldog with labrador traits 😊

See what I mean? It must be something to do with leads! No, no Richard. That is enough now!

Because, to keep going with lead generation, being a tenacious soul helps.

Tenacity defined #

In a recent Forbes article, Nancy Eberhardt cites that tenacity is that blend of determination, persistence and grit. It’s considered to be the trait that means the difference between failure and success, and that takes individuals from doing all right to thriving.

Nancy highlights that we live in a world where individuals and businesses are focused on quick fixes, quarterly numbers, immediate return on investment, and messages in 140 characters—or less. When the going gets tough, messy, or seems unsolvable, we often walk away. Yet to shine light on the issues that are most demanding and require long-term focus and remediation, it’s important to communicate effectively.

Ultimately, to keep that tenacious fire burning, we must be persistent in our curiosity. We cannot give up or give in when we know something really matters. We must keep digging for a successful outcome to be truly tenacious.

Mastering tenacity #

The journey to becoming a Master of Tenacity is an engaging one.

“Let me tell you the secret that has led me to my goal. My strength lies solely on my tenacity.” – Louis Pasteur
