Creating our vision for the future.

Vision and ambition #

In a recent insightful interview, Sir Cameron Mackintosh demonstrated his amazing visionary powers and unerring ambition.

The hugely successful British theatrical producer and theatre owner recalled a story from his childhood when he was taken to see My Fair Lady.

It was the third time he’d seen the show and very definitely thought it was no where near as good as the original with Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews.

Sir Cameron vowed, if he was to be a successful producer, his shows would have to maintain a consistent high quality throughout their performance runs.

The results speak for themselves.

Consistency #

As well as producing three of the world’s longest running musicals, Les Misérables, The Phantom of The Opera and Cats, his legendary productions include Miss Saigon, Mary Poppins (co-produced with Disney), Oliver!, Side By Side By Sondheim, Little Shop Of Horrors, Song And Dance, Tomfoolery, The Witches Of Eastwick and Five Guys Named Moe.

We might be tempted, persuaded or drawn to cut a few corners here and there because external pressures to deliver conflict with our strong levels of purpose and self-discipline.

If we give in to temptation, will it make us fulfilled if our product or service is not what we wish it to be?

Generally, I’m guessing, the answer will be a resounding NO.

Quality #

“Quality is never an accident, it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution. It represents the wise choice of many alternatives, the cumulative experience of many masters of craftsmanship.” – William A. Foster.
