Part of the role of a lead generation specialist is to put up with the rejection, so that our clients don’t have to.

I get rejected, rebuffed or refused several times a day and I’m still smiling 😊

“It’s a numbers game” is probably the cheesiest saying around sales, marketing and lead generation that we’ve all come across.

Yet, this simple phrase rings as true today as it did when the words were first uttered and; if framed properly, the wisdom will serve to fortify and encourage us to go out and have conversations with our potential buyers.

We don’t need worry about running out of people to talk to. We won’t. It’s an infinite universe. We just need to keep building our lists.

Our lists give us reassurance: the reassurance that we have safety in numbers and a few refusals won’t stop us from smiling!

Here’s why:

  1. Learning Opportunity: Each refusal provides a chance to learn. Understanding why a potential client declined our offer can help us refine our approach.
  2. Resilience Building: Handling rejection builds resilience. Overcoming setbacks and continuing to put ourselves out there despite refusals strengthens our ability to handle challenges in sales and in other areas of life.
  3. It’s natural. A single refusal doesn’t define our worth or the quality of our services. It’s a natural part of the process. Embrace it as an opportunity for growth and improvement, and we can use the insights gained to refine our strategies and ultimately achieve greater success in our efforts.
