Here’s what your clients know about you: they already know your gift.
They experience it every time they work with you. They see it in how you approach problems. They feel it in your attention to their specific situation. They recognise it in the results you deliver; not because of a sales pitch you gave them, but because of how you show up.
Your gift isn’t theoretical. It’s not something you need to invent or develop or discover in some distant future.
It’s operating right now.
Where most business owners get stuck #
They can articulate what their clients rave about. A client says “you really listened to me” or “you actually understood our situation” or “you delivered something we’ve never experienced before.” And the business owner hears it and thinks: “That’s just… how I work.”
So, they dismiss it. They look for something else. Something more. Something that feels special enough to be their actual differentiator.
Meanwhile, their clients are talking about them. Referring their friends. Coming back for more work. All because of the gift that the business owner has already completely normalised.
This is the curse of expertise. Once you know how to do something brilliantly, it stops feeling brilliant to you. It becomes ordinary. It becomes “just how I work.”
But it’s not ordinary. It’s exactly what your clients value most.
Stop looking for a gift you don’t have #
Start recognising the gift that’s already there.
Your clients aren’t confused. They know what they value about working with you. They know why they chose you over other options. They know what’s different.
The only person confused is you, standing in the middle of your own expertise, unable to see what everyone around you sees clearly.
Your gift is already visible. Your clients can see it. You’re just waiting for you to catch up.
Start asking: “What do my clients say they value most about working with me?” Write down their exact words. That’s your gift, articulated by the people who experience it.
You don’t need to discover it. You need to recognise it.
